Taleju Bhawani temple located at Hanumandhoka in Kathmandu is opened for general public only on the ninth day of Dashain festival every year. For this year it was today.
I was there this afternoon and saw thousands of devotees stand in line for hours to offer their prayer to the goddess.
Built by a Malla king in 1620BS, it has since been the patron deity of Nepal’s royal families.
Today the line of devotees reached New Road. It is believed that the number of visitors total to more than 100 thousand every year.
I am working on putting together some video clips I shot at the location. Please check out my YouTube channel at youtube.com/bpntrp
BTW, did you notice the moon(half) on the last photo?
